Dodekanes group of islands, including the island of Kos and Rhodes, is rattled in the Aegean Sea near Turkey. The history of human culture on the island of Kos reaches more than 3500 years in the past. Over time, the island had different names - Kynnis (after giant Kynnas), Karis (which according to the form of the island means garnel), Meropis (after the historic King of Island Meropas). Subsequently, the island is due to luck and wealth of its inhabitants renamed to the island Macarov, which in translation means "island of beatify".
Floating Aegean garden
Coast of the island of Kos, approximately 112 kilometers long, from that two-thirds of gorgeous, kilometer long sand and pebble beaches, which seem to stretch into infinity. They surround the crystal clear sea - seven beaches of the island is decorated with a blue flag. The biggest impression on the visitor makes just the beauty of the coast, blue sea and the sea booming oleanders throughout the island, which in the past, the island also called "floating Aegean Garden."
